Weekly SEO and Marketing Recap: July 07, 2026

Welcome back, Ninjas.

The affiliate world moved fast again this week — so fast I almost spilled my coffee reading it. Here's everything worth your time, minus the noise.

LET’S GET STARTED →

📅 Sports Calendar

Adsterra’s New Sports Calendar Times Your Traffic to Every Big Match

Sports events send huge traffic spikes, but only if you’re ready before the hype hits. Adsterra’s new Sports Calendar maps out every major match and tournament for July–December 2026, so publishers and advertisers can plan content, refresh landing pages, and schedule campaigns in advance instead of scrambling.

Here’s who it helps and how:

  • Publishers can spot trending topics early, build content plans around popular events, and boost earnings with engaged audiences.

  • Advertisers can launch ads at the right moment, connect offers to active fans, and plan spend around high-interest periods.

Works across sports, iGaming, entertainment, and lifestyle niches. Grab the full calendar here →

Publishers report rivals filing bogus copyright claims to bury competitor URLs for weeks or months, with one insider claiming a Google engineer admitted the company knows but won’t fix it.

By filing AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions next to your blue-link data instead of a separate tool, Google is quietly killing the idea that “GEO” deserves its own budget line.

A field experiment found AIOs cut organic clicks by 39.8% on queries where they appear, with no lift in sponsored clicks, search frequency, or engagement quality.

An analysis of 6.77 million LLM sessions shows Copilot collapsing 96%, Perplexity down 61%, and Claude quietly overtaking Perplexity to become the one challenger worth watching.

The new “generate ads for you” button spins up ad variations from your website and campaign settings, a clear play to get more paid inventory flowing into ChatGPT Ads faster.

The agent plugs straight into your Safari window to pull network requests and the DOM, so you stop writing perfect prompts and let it diagnose broken performance itself.

Built on TikTok for Business MCP, the marketplace ships ready-made “Skills” from partners like HubSpot and Wix to handle campaign creation, creative, and performance diagnostics through plain instructions.

Novamira turns your self-hosted site into an MCP server so Claude rebuilds designs natively in Elementor or Kadence in minutes, instead of leaving you with dead, unstyled HTML.

Because Googlebot crawls for both search and AI training, sites that block training at the network level may knock themselves out of Google’s index without realizing it.

New AI defenses cut spam exposure by 20% and block 23 million spammy views daily before a single human ever lays eyes on them.

💰 The Money Move

Stop Chasing Clicks. Start Chasing Buyer Intent.

The highest-converting affiliate content isn't the stuff with the most traffic — it's the stuff that catches people right before they pull out their wallet.

"Best," "vs," "alternative," and "review" keywords convert far better than broad top-of-funnel terms because the reader has already decided to buy; they're just picking what.

A "Best CRM for small business" post will out-earn a "What is a CRM" post ten times over, even with a fraction of the traffic.

This week's move: Audit your top 10 pages by traffic, then rank them by revenue. If your biggest traffic pages aren't your biggest earners, you're optimizing for the wrong metric.

📈 Trend Watch

Zero-Click Search Is Real — Here's How Smart Affiliates Adapt

AI Overviews and rich snippets increasingly answer questions before anyone clicks through, which means "informational" traffic is drying up for a lot of publishers. But this cuts both ways.

The queries AI can't fully satisfy — hands-on reviews, real comparisons, pricing breakdowns, and "which one should I actually buy" decisions — are exactly the queries that drive affiliate revenue.

The shift isn't the death of SEO; it's a filter. Thin content that just restates facts loses, while content that shows genuine testing, opinion, and decision-making becomes more valuable, not less. Double down on the stuff a machine can't credibly fake.

Alright, that's all from me. Go make something happen this week, and if one of these tips earns you a win, you know where to find me.
